Study Title:
Rainbow Health India: A National Hybrid-Mode Survey on LGBTQ+ Health Status, Healthcare Access, and Social Determinants
Goal:
To assess the health status, healthcare access, and social determinants of health among LGBTQ+ people in India through a national hybrid-mode survey, providing evidence to inform policies and interventions aimed at reducing health inequities.
Objectives:
- To determine the prevalence of physical and mental health conditions among diverse LGBTQ+ subpopulations in India.
- To examine the associations between social determinants (e.g., stigma, discrimination, violence) and health outcomes among LGBTQ+ individuals.
- To assess healthcare access, utilization patterns, and unmet health needs of LGBTQ+ people.
- To identify protective factors and resilience resources that may mitigate negative health outcomes in LGBTQ+ populations.
- To evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness (i.e., as a proof-of-test concept) of a hybrid-mode (online and offline) survey approach in reaching diverse LGBTQ+ subgroups across India.
